Ford BI 103-01 is a test method that uses salt spray to test the coating’s resistance to corrosion. This test is conducted in the same manner as ASTM B117. The samples receive scribes before testing per the specification. The tested panels may be rated per ASTM D714. Tape may be applied to the scribes after testing and removed by pulling the tape back rapidly. The corrosion creep is then measured.
