Test Method of Salt Spray
Toyota TSH1552G corrosion testing is used to test the resistance of coatings, plating, and rust preventive materials.
Toyota TSH1552G requires the test chamber to comply with JIS Z 2371 or ASTM B117 test specifications. The corrosive solution for Toyota TSH1552G uses refined salt according to JIS K 8150 or ISO 6353-2 standards and distilled or deionized water. The corrosive solution shall have a 5% salt content and a pH of 6.5 – 7.2. The pH of the solution for Toyota TSH1552G can be adjusted using sodium hydroxide. Toyota TSH1552G testing is conducted at 35°C with the corrosive solution being atomized continually. Atomized fog collection rates shall be 1mL-2mL per hour. Samples are rated for corrosion according to the grade scale listed in Toyota TSH1552G. ASTM D714 is referenced in the test specification as a guide for the corrosion rating.
